I keep mine all in plastic wallets and displayed on this unit in the pic below

how do you store yours?

Hope this works, if it does then you will be able to see that I keep mine in official Rovers folders on two units.

if that's you and your missus in the photo .... you could do with a bit of sun mate!!

p.s - unfortunately my programmes are in a combination of official binders / folders, leather bound binders, ASDA box files and specially modified (by me) photo albums.

God knows why but that piccie should be twice the size. There are another 4 shelves of programmes stood next to those that you can see.

My homes from 1965-66 to 1995-96 are store in the old style club binders but would no longer fit after then so are stored in those cheap Ikea boxes along with the City aways from 1970-71 to 2007-08.

I have a full bookcase, and some transparent draws that I got from B&Q to store the more recent ones.

I have recently purchased some big clear plastic storage boxes to put them in for now.

I want to try and get some binders to put them in but I'm abit reluctant at the moment as I have never ever seen a programme binder before and dont know how you store them inside it. Are they just like plastic wallets inside that you 'slip' them into.

I've seen old 'season volumes' from the 30's/40's that have been stuck together or have hole punces in them. I don't want that happening to mine.

Plus as my collection is 2 from each season over the space of around 60 years the programmes vary so much in the sizes. Do binders come in one size only? Or are they good enough to store the big A4 programmes some teams do?

A number of years ago I stored all my programmes in the paper backed sellophane bags that are seen regularly on ebay. The problem with these though is that they are highly acidic, so will tend to enhance the rusting of staples and would, over time, destroy the paper.
I now keep all my programmes in acidic free bags, with acidic free white cardboard backing boards. If anyone has seen me with them at fairs you'll know how good they look. The downsize is that it costs £13.00 per hundred to enable this. The big plus though is that you're guaranteed that the programmes will remain in the condition that you originally put them in at, many years into the future. If you consider though, that some of your programmes are worth a lot of money, why crib about 13 pence per programme to keep it in an acidic free environment.
Programme Monthly do binders in all sizes, with whatever lettering and size you require - also in acidic free materials.
Norman Fitzmaurice is worth a visit as well (can't remember his website, but google him) and he has good advice about storage as well.
Lastly, the obvious things, keep out of a damp or hot atmosphere, which means that an attic is a no-no.
My storage is a room converted into an office where I can disappear and be at ease, like a man at peace with his shed. As well as programmes, I have storage space for memorabilia as well, and bookshelves to keep a small library of football books - 400 plus hardback histories and biographies and rising.

I just have mine in loads of shoe boxes, cluttering up the front room!! I'm like Barrett, I've never seen prgoramme folders, wouldn't know how much they cost,and wouldn't know if some of the more unusual shaped programmes would fit?

Waiting for my five remaining off-springs to fly the nest so i can have one of there rooms?.Keep most of my coll in A4 binders in my youngest sons wardrobe along with other memo (Sporting Star Football Pinks Wolverhampton 68 to 75 arnt i realy glad i kept hold of these scrap books framed photos of dif Wolves teams and players from this era,also have several folders and other memo next to my computer, prob will nead one of the bigger rooms when the children finaly move on?.

These are the ones made by programme monthly and they have individual pages for each programme. They are very very good, I have a couple of them but they cost more than my clubs binders.

I've got about a dozen or so of those ones from PM. They ARE well worth the money, but they're not cheap!

I have a few of the type with the string (or some plastic type thing) that is supposed to go through the center page. I find that these are always a little tight and sometimes damage the pages so I tend not to use them.

One of the best things I ever bought though was a huge box of silica gel sachets. I attach a couple to the inside of box lids and they draw away any moisture.

ha - well therein lies a tale.

Apart from the fact that they are in storage at the moment (moving house!?) - the programme size issue is always a big problem.

Everton 45-69 various small sizes from hand size to larger issues - crammed into small Everton folders

Everton 69-present day in larger Everton folders - except I've run out so the more recent ones are just neatly stacked.

They were in the cupboards in the bedroom - previously in the attic!

All outsize ones and rarities are housed in binders with covers.

Aways are just neatly stacked in categories - League/Cup etc. I used to keep them in date order but it seemed easier to separate - naturally every other club's size range from the sublime (West Ham) to the ridiculous (Derby County etc.)

Mine are mainly in plastic wallets, in 4 ring binders on a bookshelf (the exact same bookshelf as Pirate).

I've been collecting for over 50 years and specialise in Internationals, Major Tournament Finals and all domestic Finals - total about 2,600.
In the early days I collected any programme I could get my hands on, but cost, space (and weight) constrictions put an end to that!
The problem these days is the size of these items - they are like holiday brochures. Whereas early FA Cup Final programmes had less than 20 pages the latest have over 100, and are larger and much heavier.
I have my earlier year's collections in display books or files; later years are filed individually in plastic pockets and then in box files. They take up all the "spare bedroom" in an IKEA Billy bookcase.
They are also catalogued and scanned in spreadsheets on my laptop so I can "see" them without actually getting them out of their files/boxes.
A problem I can see arising is "What do I do with them in the future?".
