The Turkish football association has come up with a radical solution for tackling hooliganism - by banning men from stadiums.

Teams sanctioned for unruly behaviour by fans are instead only allowed to admit women and children aged under 12 to watch games.

On Tuesday, more than 41,000 women and children attended Fenerbahce's match against Manisaspor in Istanbul.

if Turkey want to be part of the EU then this will become illegal,

any where within the EU would have resulted in court cases.
Turkeys own laws on sexual discrimination are not up to much.

To be honest for certain games in this country I think that the only people who should be allowed in should be women and children under the age of 12.

After the pathetic actions of Leeds/Man Utd fans the other week, then I would have forced both teams to play behind closed doors, I.E. three Leeds home games with no home fans, and three Man Utd away games with no away fans.

But I think that this idea by the Turks is a good idea, if the men can't behave at a football game why should women and children have to suffer, it would make for a different atmosphere granted but why not give it a try.
