In preparation for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil I'm considering joining the FA England Fans club. The front page gives you the details and tells you that you are guaranteed one England Ticket per game and a few other benefits but the membership is £75 !

So anyone a members ? if so is it worth is and what were the ticket arrangements for the 2010 World cup - like how many ticket could you order ?

I'm a member.

For the £75 you get a lovely membership card and a CRB check to confirm you're not a wrong un. You also get £5 off every ticket you buy for England home games, so if you go to every game you get most of your money back effectively.

However if you just want to go to Brazil and aren't bothered in all the qualifiers and riveting friendlies that we play, I wouldn't bother. Loads of tickets were available on the FIFA website for the 2010 world cup, and it was the same for this summers Euros. I can't see Brazil being any different due to the rather obvious costs of simply getting there. Or alternatively if you stump up your £75 i'd say you are almost certain to be guaranteed a ticket for any England game you want.

You can only apply for one ticket per membership so if there's a few of you i'd forget joining englandfans and put your respective £75's towards actually finding a hotel that's not been block booked by FIFA...

Thanks for the depth details Senior82, I think I'll leave it for now as I can't get to the league games I want to these days so England and all that disappointing stuff is a none starter Smile

I might even rent a place in Brazil the week before and try and get tickets from that end.

World cup tickets will go on sale in February or march next year

Normally you can apply for follow my team or individual games

I would recommend buying a few games eg f2 v f4 at a venue on a date and do up a rough schedule you can tailor it for English games then that suit. If you must just follow England then ignore e above and try for the fmt tickets

My understanding for the travel club is that you would need to be going away regularly to get finals tickets anyway

They do say that to apply for tickets via englandfans you need to have been to certain amount of games. However due to the lack of applications for WC2010 and Euro 2012, any member was able to apply, and everybody who applied got tickets.
