I'm sure there will be many different opinions but thought i'd ask away...

Who has the biggest collection for your club?

By this I mean, do you know anyone that has a complete set H, A, H&A back to say 1945, 1930, 1920 etc...

I would assume that one of the bigger collections would be the Everton collection by Dr Francis (???), and then there was the Scott Chesire Chelsea collection, are there anymore that others know about?

I have a complete set of Blackpool home and aways from 1945/6 except for one or two 45/6 progs and the odd postponed and overseas friendly.

I also have loads of pre war and wartime but nothing like complete seasons, the nearest being 1938/9. I do have examples of each season though going back to the 1920s. Earlier than that Blackpool programmes are like hen's teeth.

I know of at least 2 other Blackpool collectors who have similar post war collections but one of them has a lot more pre war and wartime and by now may even have some complete wartime sets.

I am now concentrating on home reserves and am only missing a handful since 1950/1.

KPSwannie has a huge Rangers collection and this guy is now a member. It's between these two. Here's Sarge's collection.

Now that is debatable really, because we only have people's word that they actually own these programmes. For all we know some people could possibly be a bigger bum than ten arses and they have scans but no programmes.

He'll put a hitman on me for saying that.

I am still away, Pablo gets my vote.

As for the suggestions that some collectors may not actually have what they say or even show they have, it would be interesting to learn which forum members would appear to b under the microscope who only have copies in the main and not originals? Sherlock

I know of two collectors - one with a huge chelsea collection and one with a huge spurs collection.

My city collection is quite pleasant also - Loads of quality items in there, still plenty to get though !

Thanks for this, Eck - I've just spent a very pleasant hour looking at all those obscure Gers friendlies from the 60s and 70s.

By the way, I think I may have the biggest Derby County collection in Aberdeen....cos it's the ONLY Derby County collection in Aberdeen Smile

very interesting topic

What defines biggest?
number of programmes?
number of other items such as menus?
overall estimated value of your whole collection?

Most clubs have more than one colelctor at the highest level.
The exception is Chelsea where the largest collector without doubt is Robert Stein.
There used to be three of them trying to kill each other but now there is only one.
When Scott Cheshire passed away his collection, which was possibly the biggest has been carved up.

Arsenal has Leonard Evans and Richard Cohen
Spurs has Darren Burney and Neville Evans

The Everton collection is now in the hands of the club.

I obviously have the largest Manchester United collection
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Roy Connor has Manchester City tied up

Liverpool is spread around

Come on guys hands up
Very Happy Very Happy

Found a few duplicates earlier today on my flickr so it's now just under 3000 - however there are a few hundred more items to go on that I have got photos of...and quite a lot more that I haven't snapped yet! These are all my items, nothing I don't own goes on my site
