Hi ,

I have been clearing out some drawers during this lockdown and have stumbeld across 20 odd old football programmes, one of which is what i'm led to believe is a very rare programme as above. The paper and the smell of the programme leads me to believe it is original and not a reporduction . The programme has a little ink wirtin on the front and rear cover but the rest of this rare programme is in very good condition . The big question is how much is it worth and where is the best place to sell .

One sold recently on ebay for £799 and one sold last year at Sporting Gold auction for £780. This used to be a £1000+ programme but prices have fallen a bit in recent years

You can buy a reproduction on ebay for £3.99 - probably a good investment so you can compare to yours

If you don't have a selling history on ebay and there is any doubt about authenticity then take it to Sporting Gold - they have auctions every 6 weeks and provide absolute certainty to buyers that whatever they sell is original

Hi

I have posted the programme on e bay with close up photos of every page and have been accurate with the description . I have used the word assume as at this point I can’t mid lead anyone saying it is DEFINATELY authentic

I will get the replica programme and compare however due to the provenance and another two Rochdale programmes I have from around 1962. I am happy that the paper quality , colour and odour are that of an original

There's two up there at the moment, but they're not from people outside the hobby. One's at £1,400 and the other at £1k.

Yes I totally get that , I had put on 20 programmes on e bay for a starting bid of £5 !!! Until it became apparent everyone wanted this programme

It’s on e bay now with a starting price of £600

Let’s see what happens

I’ve also bought one of the replicas as suggested to see what the difference is

Im more than happy mine is an original and am awaiting an e mail response from sporting gold

I can’t see any on eBay starting at £600.

In fact only 2 for sale

Hi the item was listed to go live on e bay at 2pm , it may be down to their backlog

I’ve sent photographs of the programme to a leading sports auctioneer and he is 99 % percent certain this is original

On the e bay listing there is photos of every page of the programme so all you collectors can have a good look and make your own opinions

No that is not the correct listing , I cancelled that one as I thought it was USA site the listing is 264722671902 although those are the correct photos you elude to on my original listing

I’ve been onto e bay all yesterday , it appears some can see it ( quite a few watchers ) however others can’t !!

Their technical team are supposed to be phoning me back

I’m just absolutely gobsmacked

There are another 20 programmes with this one

I’ll just need to research them I suppose to make sure there ain’t another gem

They are all from the same era 1960 -1965
