Yet eBay have refused to take it down.

LOLZ!!!!!!!!!!

That's some foresight by the Gunners to be fair, using buttons that featured a crest that wouldn't be invented for another 20-odd years!!!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Cheers for fixing link, my intrigue had got the better of me mate.

""ARSENAL Buttons that were used on the clubs blazers"" , next sentence ,
""They are all UN-USED"".

Nothing really . He probably just came across them in a junk shop. See this all the time. My mate said always make up a fascinating story of how you came across something. Plenty of gullible people out there.

That's rich!!
About a year ago, I got a one week suspension on Ebay for selling a fraudulent item after Arsenal objected to me selling a single badge that had come out of one of their own membership boxes!!
Despite contacting Arsenal and the Premier League directly, neither would step in despite both agreeing that I had done nothing wrong.

I do agree that it's impressive that Arsenal knew about the badge change twenty years in advance though Wiggy. Clap

I got a 'VERO' infringement notice from eBay on Friday mate, telling me I was breaching copyright laws and that my ... "Stone Island badge listing was being removed."

Seeing as I'd already sold it a week previously, had been paid, it had been delivered, and we'd left each other nice feedback, I didn't lose any sleep over it though.

Wullie, the badge on the buttons is the current one which wasn't designed until 2002!

nice one lol . Interesting because in 1973 i didn't believe the Sunderland badge featuring a ship and shield existed until i came across a fixture list and there it was. I would have sworn it was around 1976. This guy has obviously come across some buttons and made up a story about them . Sadly he didn't do his homework Laughing

eBay won't stop fakes in general being sold . The gold coin business is full of them and they turn the other cheek if you tell them. Not much of a problem in the programme world, but there have been a number of official reprints sold as original. The 1949 Yeovil v Sunderland springs to mind as one i often see. I would never buy a copy of this programme on eBay.

I'd quite like a 1966 WC Final ticket, always fancied having that little piece of history in my ticket collection - but I wouldn't even contemplate buying one on eBay, due to the saturation of fakes.

I'm sure I could tell the real thing if it were in my hand, but it's generally too late then sadly.

That's one good thing about being a Newport collector, no sod cares enough to fake any of our stuff.
