Driving me nuts is this, as it looks so familiar.

2013/14 Wakefield v Cammell Laird - attendance 37 - but it's obvious that Wakefield are playing the match at a (large) neutral stadium.

I'll kick myself when (or if) someone tells me....

I'd ruled them out because of all the glass windows behind the right hand goal!

Thanks for the info

I'm pretty sure it's the Rapid Solicitors Stadium, formerly Belle Vue - the home of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Rugby League team. Smile

Wakefield Trinity - was that where some scenes were filmed for the Lindsey Anderson movie "This Sporting Life"?

Circa 1963?

Memory is bad today - can picture the movie and the lead actor. But not his name. Wasn't Albert Finney, was it?

If memory serves me correctly, it was Richard Harris and the crowd scenes were at Wakefield AND Halifax.... Smile

Richard Harris - of course!

His character in that movie had an affair with the character played by Rachel Roberts who was often in Anderson's movies and, in more than one of them, played a character who committed suicide.

She also played the head of the school in "Picnic At Hanging Rock" later on - who also took her own life.

Then, in real life, the actress herself committed suicide after a marriage break-up...

Life imitating art. Makes you think, eh?
