Forgive me for the possible stupid question, but as stated elsewhere, I am new to proper programme collecting.

I was wondering what stats other people keep, I am a bit old school so I will be keeping any stats the old fashioned pen and paper way.

Would appreciate any things I may be missing to write, I would rather know now at the start of keeping stats!

I have a large hand-written folder of records in season order that notes the obvious things like date, result, scorers, attendance and the line-up for the match.
Against that, I mark whether or not I have the programme.

There's not much else you can take note of, really. Statto is useful for getting the league positions after each game of any season.

I much preferred when players wore shirts numbered 1 to 11 as at ;east it gave you an idea of where they played on the pitch as opposed to all these squad numbers nowadays.

What I do is convert the squad numbers to the old-style 1-11 and record them like that.

My records are quite simple, I record the opponents, date and competition.

I use the superb Excel application that was produced by Geddon a few years back now. I mainly keep stats for the purposes of collecting, e.g. was there a known issue and do I have it...

Also keep a very similar record on my website (see profile signature below)
