There were no player portraits as such although there are sections of players recent past and also Everton Giants as a section in some.

What are you looking for in particular?

I have a bound volume from that season so I can check out what you need me to

Hi Andy

I was lead to believe that the Everton programmes included player portraits as programme inserts (Aston Villa did something similar for many years in the period up to 1915 - mostly on sheets that came as programme inserts). I don't know where I got the information from, it was such a long time ago, the only one I know of is A. Geldard

Perhaps it wasn't 1936-37. Was there anything like that in Everton programmes in any other seasons in the 1930s?

I haven't seen any inserts in the 30's programmes I have. By inserts you mean separate to the programme?

From memory an insert (loose) was issued with Everton home programmes in the late 1930's, these were 1 sided on a glossier paper than the actual programme and about the size of a 1960's Everton home programme whereas the programme from those years were more of todays matchday programme size. The actual inserts had Everton Football Club along the top with a small picture of the player in the middle and his name at the bottom, 1st team players, reserve players and Club Officials were all featured.

It's my intention to try and compile a list of those issued, can you recall which season in the 1930s?

Looking through my 37-38 and 38-39 seasons programmes the "Our History Sheets" section is part of the programme and focusses on a different player each time. There are pictures of these players. This section was in many of the 36-37 programmes but no pics.

I am happy to start scanning these and adding them to my flickr page. I will let you know once I have started.
