It is a cracker. But for some obscure reason the Italian FA said the ref should not have awarded it as a goal and ordered the game to be replayed, (dro v termeno)

On the subject of penalties.. I saw the very first penalty shoot out at Wembley in 1991. Torquay v Blackpool Play Off Final, Went to sudden death if I remember and our goalkeeper Gareth Howellls stepped up for the penalty and buried it then stood between the sticks and made Blackpool's Bamber bottle it.

There is only one thing worse than losing a play off final and that is losing a play off final on penalties.

One of my worst nights ever watching Blackpool but at least we managed to put it right the following year.

The ups and downs of supporting a team. Look where we both are now.

Indeed, did follow your scores the next season.

That was a hell of a night though wasn't it. Your lad Bamber just didn't look up for it as he stepped up.

Yes, we knew as he stepped up that he was going to miss.

Still he had a fanzine named after him didn't he?

Bamber's right foot. Laughing

I missed one in a works Cup Final.......changed my mind at the last second as to where to place it.
Didn't fool their keeper.

To make matters worse, we lost 4-3. If I'd scored, we'd have gone 4-1 up.

Yes, I missed one at Upton Park. Keeper saved it - but it's still a miss isn't it.

Cost me a trip to the World cup final in South Africa.
