Anyone else collecting this year?

Finished.

Bought a box of 100 added about 15 further packs and did a couple of swaps on here, then picked up a few via ebay at 15p and have now listed my swaps on eBay and sent away.

Yes I am collecting. Though I NEVER finish it!!! A waste of money perhaps... but it is more of a tradition than a completist collection for me. Each time it comes out you get that feeling in the stomach of a summerfull of footie! It means something when the album comes out.

Equally it holds memories for me. It makes me think back to where and and what I was doing at each World Cup.

Having said all of that, I am determined to finish it this year. I think I was always put of by the buy al you need option at the back. I prefer going intot he shop and buying the packs though I think to complete it this year I will buy what I need at somepoint. Which leads to he question: How long do Panini offer the buy what you need option? Is there a cut off date?

I think you get a year from when the tournament ends.


Hopefully we can get swapping soon. I am at that stage when you need like 2 stickers from every pack purchased. For Euro 2012 I just bought them from sellers on eBay, then "sent away" for the last 50

Are Panini stickers still as popular as they used to be, in your opinion?

I'm collecting too...and also building up a nice little pile of swaps already...Argentina and Colombia seem very easy to obtain! As for how popular the old stickers are now...just search for the Panini Europa 80 or any of the Panini World Cup and domestic Football albums from the late 70s and 80s on Ebay to see how much even a few cards fetch. I found all my old albums a few months back and completing them will not be a cheap pursuit!

Some are really easy. I got 6 Ivory Coast just in the free packs with the album.

When did the album come out? Reading the small print it seems the end date is a year from publishing date.

Just started for me and only 1 to swap so far.

Flipping 'eck! Nearly finished!!?? I only just got my first packs! You are so right. What is the point? I want that feeling of having a pack with a silver badge in!! I am easily pleased.

Might give him it when he is older, maybe not!

I know people prefer to exchange but if anyone needs to buy any to complete sets then send me a message with the numbers and I will see if I can help. They will be on my website sometime over the next week or so hopefully (640 stickers is a lot to scan hence the delay in getting them on plus other new releases taking over).

I used to love collecting stickers and cards (just by buying packets) but always ended up with dozens of incomplete sets and I rarely bothered to fill the gaps.

I only conciously completed one season and that was for Blackpool's one off season in the Premier League.

I bought separate sets of the Blackpool cards and stickers to make sure I had all these, but thought it would be a good idea to have full sets with all the other clubs as well.

I tried to see how far I could get just buyng packets to begin with and then doing some swappiing. I came within just needing a handful of complete stickers and cards and picked the remaining ones up cheaply on Ebay.

15p each for the basic stickers. Badges and the foil 00 sticker will be more but not excessive like some on ebay are trying to charge
