He's dreaming isn't he!! 50 seasons of home Villa and he'e looking for around £25K means £500 a season. His only hope is that a Villa fan won the lottery tonight.

"Over 50 years of programmes with the exception of Villa v Manchester United 3/1/58"

I wasn`t aware that there was a game between the two clubs on that date? Sherlock

Hmmm.....wants £25k and has given mis-information already? !

Maybe an interesting legal problem as he is showing a winning bid of 99pence for the Auction. He obviously will not let them go for that but he did set it up as an auction ...................

E Bay will not be too chuffed if he does get a few thousand for them as they end up with a final value fee on 99pence.

It's home and aways (rather than just homes that someone mentioned) but still, even with a few gems in there surely £25k is very unlikely. I would have thought the more intersting ones would be before those years but guess they are being kept.

Mind you the binders alone must have cost a bit !!

Seems a shame to sell a football collection to fund a cricket career, if he's that good he doesn't need to go to Millfield but you have to admire his dad's support.

The way it's been run I guess we'll never know the result although I agree that ebay will have something to say if they pick up on it.

And the bidder could complain to ebay if anything happens between the seller and bidder

You're not wrong. There was no first division games on that date.

For a start the 3/1/58 was a Friday, there were no games in January that season until 11/1/58. It is possible that a postponed one exists but I find it hard to believe that the whole first division card was wiped out on that week.

F.A. cup on the 4th.

Thanks for the info Eck....good links.

I may have been a bit harsh regarding "mis-information", It`s possible he mean`t Aston Villa v Manchester United on 31/3/58...plausable and an easy mistake.

This fixture attracted only 16,000 or so due to it being played on a Bank Holiday and/or at a strange hour of day, not sure?

What I am sure about is this is the ONLY programme I`d want from his collection as it is collectable and commands quite a high price so just a pity that out of all his thousands of prgrammes, this is the one he possibly doesn`t have. Confused
