What you want, is to be playing a mid table team whose players are already thinking about their jollies in far away places,

What you don't want is to be playing a team that need a result, and whose manager happened to play for your City rivals, who incidentally also happen to be the only team who can overhaul you.

Not to mention the manager of said team fighting for their premiership lives being an ex Red who only payed for United TWICE is also the same manager that City sacked to bring in Mancini!! and a good number of the team were purchased by him as well!!, so old sparky may well just have something to prove Laughing

What rhymes with Blues?.........................................[LOSE!] Thumbs Up
why change the habit of a lifetime!!

Cant see anything but a convincing city win especially with an early goal. Qpr dont have enough quality to stop them. Mark hughes can only do so much with what players he has no matter how much he wants revenge on city

that is the realistic viewpoint, but no harm in taunting this" local "
from milton keynes.

what are they gonna do if they cock it up, yayayayay already said he loves barca and want to go back-so wots all that bollocks about-getting it in case it goes pear shaped?

City favourites now but raised the bar and they cannot buy everyone and this will only make United more determined for the future no matter what happens this week end. As i said before only the best team wins the league and then we start again

Those pesky reds trying to taunt a Blue after there highly expensive squad blew an 8 point lead - You couldn't make it up - Like little spoilt children who don't get there own way !!!

I'm far too blue in the tooth to even suggest the title is a forgone conclusion on Sunday but I'm just enjoying living the dream as to were we are now - If we do win the league this Sunday I will then turn my excitement to the prospect of another charity shield, Although at Villa Park this year, because I honestly never believed I would experience what I'm experiencing now(Cue your only there because of the money response).

I've watched City in 3 Divisions over 3 decades, despite my location and there aren't many other football supporters who can share the experiences, heartache, laughs, depression, embarrassments, failures that we have to endure following our club !!!

For the record the young fella in the picture is my 9- year old and to share the prospect of winning the league with him is beyond dreams  Thumbs Up

I liked football better when anyone could win the FA CUP or the League, without foreign investors and overpaid pampered average players.

The difference in Manchester Uniteds spending was that until the Glazers took over as owners, the Clubs spending was financed by the generating of their own revenue. The extension of the North Stands, etc gives a capacity of 76.000,more than any other premier League Club.Despite our American friends ,United have made a profit for the last two years. No jealousy on my part of Manchester City spending. With the star players they have bought at least one trophy would be expected.Uniteds spending in the last 12 seasons has brought 12 major Trophies.Only Chelsea can match that.
Sir Alex Ferguson looks at these mega rich Clubs as a challenge, and City are regarded as the latest. The bright spot is that the Reds are nurturing young talent . Last season United youngsters won the FA Youth Cup,and the majority of those players this season are now established 2nd team players who this evening have beaten Aston Villa in the Barclays National Reserve League Final.United will spend in the close season without doubt, but tell me any Premiership Club that wont?Arsenal have already signed Podolski.Liverpool spent £100million last season. Finally,If the Blues win the title ,may I be the first to offer my congratulations.

The real league starts about about position ten doesn't it ?

How bad has it got when your team has won one cup and is in the final of another yet your season is seen as a failure and your manager is still getting sacked after the final ? Liverpool & Chelsea.

I do hope the red side win it, but only because I can't stand the thought of all those predictions by tv pundits telling us that city will dominate the future of football. One thought to those City fans, don't forget if you do win it then from then on - everything else but winning the champions league is a bad season for you. Even League and Cup Finals become merely a distraction. So in reality your season could be over before the CL group stages end of August.

I think United will need to streghen in the summer, City will probably spend another 50 or 60 million.

Uniteds wealth as stated was always self generated. As for ownership we fought maxwell in the 80s,sky in the 90s and the fight against glazer will carry on.
In that respect i am part of the problem as i still go,hence filling his pockets, like my grandad and dad before me and now my daughter and son i cant and wont walk away.
To welcome foreign investers like city fans have with open arms is that bit that sticks, think yourself lucky you got who you did.
You may remember that other team in red who also welcomed with open arms people with no love for the club just a promise of untold riches and success and look what they ended up with...liverpool,blackburn,chelsea were all seen off down the years, with these kids coming through don't bet against the old man having one last sip of the summer wine(or should i say champagne) Bow

It will be a bit nauseating if Tevez gets a medal if city get the title which I cannot see them not doing. What does this say about contracts if he does? 5 months playing golf, comes back because no one will buy him,and
is welcomed back with open arms. What sort of standards are being set there?
