Anyone know if an official programme was produced for PAOK v Tottenham and/or Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League.

A guy in Holland has been selling loads of Tottenham programmes and now has sold a few Shamrock Rovers ones.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011.....1e67cf42ad

I got it today in the post and it looks OK but hard to know for sure.

He has sold a number of Spurs issues already.

Now nobody outside of Holland has been selling either programme afaik.

I know Spurs have quite a few "clued in" fans who surely would have obtained anything going at the game.

Unfortunately Shamrock Rovers don't but so far everyone has said there was nothing done.

He does seem to have been in Greece for the Spurs game as he sold a ticket but no teamsheets or tickets from Shamrock Rovers.

Hi Gary

I recall Aberdeen played Panathinaikos in 08/09 and nothing official was produced, only pirates. These were on ebay from Holland, as were other pirates for AFC Euro aways that season.

Cheers
Peter

Thanks Peter.

Also does anyone know the identity of the Dutch collector who sold a really rare Real Madrid v Man Utd 1957 programme for a 4 figure sum supposedly secured from the referee except Real Madrid used a font that wasn't invented until the 1970s in a 1957 programme.

I had a friend at the game and nothing was available outside the stadium. Its probably pirate if its the one for around £15 on eBay.

Thanks Chris. This is the link to the Spurs one.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2011.....53e9c221b6

Different Dutch ebay id but same paypal address.

Looks the same as the Shamrock Rovers one.

Also differences in the presskit being sold. I suspect his is the UEFA download. Different folder used in Greece and page on FARE missing, also Greek one was unstapled and used black and white logos.

To be fair the seller has responded and the programme and presskit are supposedly official and obtained from the VIP area in the stadium.
He has offered a full refund on return of the items.

I am still very very sceptical.

Any thoughts?

Says its a programme/flyer. Could be a presskit folder. As its not an official programme its of no interest to me. unfortunately unless its sold outside the stadium you can never be sure.

Like you i'm very skeptical of these two sellers, one of them is selling a similar 4 page thing for the Club Brugge V Birmingham game and i've seen a number of Birmingham fans say that the only thing they could get their hands on was a teamsheet which was possibly downloaded from the UEFA website, but on the other hand he does seem to have the official programme for the Rennes V Celtic match.

With regards to the Spurs ones i have been told that there was a VIP Presskit and a 4 page programme by a Spurs fan/dealer who i have complete faith in, in terms of obtaining items, i haven;t actually seen these items though so don't know what they look like and due to funds cannot afford to purchase them off the dealer i know so won't know what they look like either

Seller is adamant they are official and obtained from the VIP area.

It is a 4 page programme with team lineups etc.

Problem is almost everone at Partizan Belgrade v Shamrock rovers said there was nothing done but plenty of a 4 page issue on ebay. However an FAI official also brought me back one obtained at the game and a couple of others trickled back. Would have been really rare if a Serbian collector didn't get them and I've no doubt they are official.

Nobody got this one

I would expect some would have come back from Tottenham collectors. The Tottenham dealer could have got them at the game or he could have bought from a Dutch source.

Now the plot thickens. The ebay id of the guy that sold the Real Madrid v Man Utd 1957 programme for a 4 figure sum that used a font invented in the 1970s was ebay id midifo. He is also selling PAOK programmes. This seller is MP69 but guess what his paypal address is midifo..... Now midifo has 33,000 google entries so it may be coincidence. Likewise Real Madrid are a very progressive club and could have produced a programme in 1957 using a font that wouldn't be invented for another 15 years but there is a more logical explanation.

This Midifo chap also gets his hands on 'rare' Liverpool European aways that have never been seen before. I bought a recent programme for a pre-season game just to fill in were I new there wasn't an official issue, and they are pretty good quality, but, in my humble opinion, a lot of what he sells are.......well, you know what I mean!

There was certainly nothing available at the away end at the PAOK-Rovers game. I'm putting it down as a non-issue!

I brought the PAOK v Shamrock Rovers programme to the game last night in Dublin and showed it to some PAOK people.

Although none of them appeared to have seen it before they did indicate that it was OK and looked genuine.

I am still skeptical tbh but will be keeping the item but will probably never know for sure.

I also spoke to some Rovers people who were there. to a man they were adamant nothing was done but unfortunately they were equally adamant nothing was done in Tel Aviv, Copenhagen and Belgrade also which in all cases saw official programmes produced. Note the Bnei away on ebay from Belarus is a poor reproduction of the original. His reproduction of Armenia v Republic of Ireland is much better but still has differences.

Jeez, thank God Hibs don't get into Europe much these days. Seems like a nightmare trying to distinguish between official and some pirate issues Smile
In most of our European adventures there were only official issues or non issues. Pirates had not been invented.
Dnipro a few years ago was a bit mind boggling though.

For the St Pats games this year

v IBV (free issue, widely available)
v Karangandy (no issue - according to club officials)
v Karpaty Lviv (official issue, only sold in home ground, possible free as no price on it). We asked a local badge seller to get us some and he sold me 10 for about €10

There was a programme in Karagandy. 3 came back afaik and a well known Pats collector who shares a christian name with the club got one. I managed to get one much later via a Russian source.

2 different issues in Iceland apparently - one with colour inside and 1 all black and white inside.

I don't think it is a pirate but you can never be sure. I emailed and faxed the club a few times before/after the game without success but a Russian friend rang them a few times speaking Russian and got one eventually. As it came from the club I'm assuming it is OK although I haven't compared mine with the one that came back. 20+ pages A5 issue so probably way too good to be a pirate.

I'm told it was VIP only.at the game.

It cost me quite a bit and I'm already trying to get another for another collector here. The boys in Belarus and Ukraine are trying to get their hands on a copy to reprint I'm told. Be very careful if it appears on ebay from either country.

Yeah but even the club official who went came back empty handed. He did say he had a lot to do that day so didn't go round chasing them (he was on logistics for that nightmare journey)

Yeah, I tried contacting the club several times

Grrrrr

Another holy grail appears Crying or Very sad
