I bought the programme on e-bay out of interest, but I'm feeling rather guilty about owning it. Anyone any ideas about how best to use it. Only went for £5 so selling it for worthwhile cause is not likely to produce much.

Don't feel guilty, it's one of the major events in football history.

To be honest though I had the same feeling when I first started selling items like this. But the are people who want to collect these things and for valid not morbid reasons. So it's all part of the marketplace. Did all those G. Best fans feel guilty buying after his death ?

One thing you could do is frame it and put RIP inside the frame.

There is no need to feel guilty - I attended the Juventus v Liverpool game at Heysel.

I bought the programme later off eBay.

I remember having a letter printed in PM shortly after the disaster about profiteering from the sale of the original programme. Like many others, we were offered the semi final programmes at cost price a week before the game (this was during my RJS Programmes days at Grimsby Town) A month later, "fans" were selling them with vastly inflated minimum bids in PM, while the emotion surrounding the disaster was still very raw.

I actually found it repulsive that people could do such a thing, however, time has moved on somewhat and it is an historically important programme now. The profit motive based on naked greed has passed on and it's just another programme now, same as Silkman says with the Heysel programme.

Indeed, I purchased the Bolton disaster game a short while ago for it's historical context to the game, the same as I did the Rangers Ibrox disaster game.
