The wonders of eBay again, a while ago it was a Chelsea jigsaw at 700 quid now a few press photos, see all of the other listings reaching over 100 quid each! Shocked Confused Sherlock 120786422933

I have absolutely no idea.

There's definately more questions than answers.

Are we to believe that 28 press photo's from Chelsea matches at the beginning of the 70s are really worth £3000?

What kind of person puts in a bid for under £10, then follows it up with a number of bids of a similiar pattern in £100 multiples seconds apart.

If for whatever reason someone is willing to pay £400 plus for a couple of photo's then why not just bid the once?

Very strange.................very strange indeed.

Must have deep pockets.

Look at the other photos for sale and the Chelsea collector is in for over £3K if all his major bids pan out! Shocked

Okay, here's my take on this for what it's worth.

To start with, the items are hardly unique, with all photo's there are more than likely more than one copy, so why the high price.

Looks like the seller does have a genuine interested party, a party to which the seller knows has a lot of money but little brain.

The seller has a little friend, as JJ pointed out has a history of bid retractions. More telling that 5/6 of these 'valuable' items have had bid retractions from said little friend.

The explanation for retracting these bids are all 'entered wrong amount'. Now, One I can understand, Five, no way Jose.
No

The same buyers are going head to head on another RARE press photograph from 1965/66 sold by Dave Allen, afraid there's no shill bidding involved just 2 nut jobs with lots of cash. Its up to over £1000 with just 6 days remaining. At this rate i will have to dig out my 20 shoe boxes or so of press photo's from the 1920's onwards i'm quite sure i have dozens involving Chelski.

I'm sure it's not just me, but some people must be absolutely barking with far more money than sense? A 60's football photograph worth £1k plus.....never.

Can someone explain to the fool he can take a copy - or even get on off the internet from somewhere - and print it on decent photo standard paper - for NEXT TO NOTHING!?

Frame it for a fiver -- and display it. End of story.

You can do that with a programme too though.

BTW I am still shocked at the prices.

this one has no bids so far? different seller. he selling some cracking originals but press photos sadly are out of my radar. One because of limited funds and two because of limited knowledge, so i stick with programmes.

There's a lot more SAFC programmes to come after that one. The seller has a very large collection of mainly photo's that he's getting rid of.
