I think it has to be Everton vs Leeds Utd 1968/69 (Tuesday 18th Feb). Postponed game eventually played on 22 April 1969. A rare programme from Leeds 1968/69 Championship Season. No idea of its value as I have never seen it for sale anywhere.

Picked it up in a 'bundle' for the princely sum of £4, the seller was asking £5, at a car boot several years ago. The old saying "We all like a bargain" certainly applies in this case.

At a car boot sale during the mid 90s and ruffling through an old box of magazines. "Anything in that box, 20pence each" said the stall holder. Delving a bit deeper and my eyes popped out.....the 1959 European Cup Final between Stade Reims and Real Madrid...... I couldnt give him 20p quick enough.

I put it in the offers list in programme monthly (no computer or ebay then) and got £90 for it. Not a bad profit margin methinks.

Bought a 1924 Ajax v Leeds Friendly programme on ebay back in 2004 for around £50 from a seller in Holland, the match was Leeds first ever match outside the UK and only pre war match abroad
Last year found a 1926 FA Cup Final programme on ebay for £15.00 buy it now. It had only just been listed so was lucky.

I think at the time i looked at the sellers other items and they had loads of odds and ends listed, military items and various vases etc just random antique stuff, no other football items and their viewable feedback history didn't show any football items having previously been sold so the seller obviously didn't know anything about football or the value of programmes.

My dad bless him, likes to try to help my hobby by calling me from time to time from antiques fairs and usually comes home with run of the mill dross having paid a pound or so per item and I always smile sweetly and say cheers for trying pops. Imagine my surprise one evening when he pops over and says I got a couple of programmes, this foreign one looks interesting but I dont know what it is. He was well chuffed when I told him he had just bought the Greek edition of the real Madrid Chelsea Final for a princely fiver. At the time the programme was fetching £400 plus, how times have changed!

Bought a box of England Internationals at a well known auction for £30.00, sorting through them when I got them home there was an England v Wales amongst them from 1966, nothing special until looking through it until you came to the England team photo which had been signed by the 66 world cup winning squad put it into another auction a couple of months later and got nearly £375 for it.

Also a house clearance auction picked up a box of run-of-the-mill programmes until you got to the bottom of the box and there were 2 1940's Liverpool homes made a nice little profit on them.

Man Utd v Tottenham treble season - 10p at the programme fair at Bolton in 2003. Worth a few quid back then, not so much now obviously.

Bought a bundle of Everton & Liverpool Reserve homes for £20 and included was the 64/5 Everton v. Man Utd FAYC single sheet which fetched a nice £82 on Ebay. Also a Buy It Now 60/61 Burnley v. Villa League Cup Semi, listed as an ordinary home for £3.50. Got a tidy £55 for that one.

Not in that league but I was always missing the 1959 FAI Cup final replay and it usually goes for 70-90 on ebay

Picked it up for 12 as the guy had listed it incorrectly

Hi hi Very Happy As my ol mom used to say "you made ya bed..."

I posted that because I can't think of any bargains I've had, although I trade for profit and do ok at that without wanting to rip people off. For myself if anything I pay over the odds for stuff I want to keep. So anyone got any rare Albion testimonials they want a good price for ? not seen one I've not got for a few years but my collection is far from complete I suspect.
