Hi Guy's,

Just a quick note for all you Scottish programme collectors out there! Steven Jacobs from www.glasgowprogrammes.com has just confirmed a date for the first 2011 Scottish programme fair it will be held on Sunday March 13th at the Swallow Hotel Glasgow Scottish Cup weekend near Ibrox Stadium off of Paisley Road West 10am - 3pm. All major Scottish Programme dealers will be in attendance inc Brian Johnstone from Almondvale Programmes.

Further travel and parking details will follow.

Anyone with any queries on the fair can contact Steven directly at [email protected]

If collectors attendance can increase fair on fair for this one then this could be a yearly event.

Strathmore - can you provide a list of dealers/part-time dealers/chancers who will be at the fair?

It's a good question?

As far as I am aware Brian Johnston of www.almondvaleprogrammes.co.uk will be there with the best selection of programmes can't rule out www.glasgowprogrammes.com having a good selection as Steven Jacobs is nearly 40 years in the business and one of the Uk's oldest programme dealers so he is bound to have something of interest?
Richard Cairns of Kilmarnock will be there , and also obviously noted above Stewarty will be there too! also another major book dealer going along, although whether there chancers/part-dealers or full time dealers you'll need to ask them that! Although no sign of D&D going so I suppose that rule's out your chancers.

I think this fair is only going to be a small venue with a view to another one come June with more stall outlets i.e inc Peter Rundo as with the Scottish Cup game at Dundee United on the 13th March he can't make it , although with Hibee's , Hearts and one of either Celtic or Rangers out of the cup that weekend then there's really no excuse not for a decent turn out? the more people that get along to this one then the bigger the incentive is for a larger venue for the one in june were hopefully more people on this forum whom live in Scotland can get along too and display there collections , but I suppose even if you don't find something that you can purchase on the day then at least you will be able to talk shop with other collectors and hopefully find items that you need that way.

Thumbs Up

Cheers, good to hear that there are plans to make it more than a once-a-year event Thumbs Up

Did anyone else see today's Evening Times (Saturday) pages 18 - 19 two page spread on tomorrow's programme fair? It is a feature piece on Steven Jacobs of www. glasgowprogrammes.com on how he had started the business in the 70's at the shop on Paisley Road West and how things have progressed since then, A Great article on tommorrow's fair was a real good read, had some pictures of the older programme's too, Hopefully a good turn out tomorrow hope to see you all there Thumbs Up
