Yes it was a joint programme with Villa Reserves v Burnley Reserves on the 29th March.
I'm still looking for a copy of the programme myself.

Yes it was a double issue, sorry Lincoln but as Raffa always says.......

IT ALSO IS ONE OF THE DIFFICULT AWAYS FOR THE 1957-8 season and does not help with dealers hiking up the price due to the Munich Air Disaster as they all do! that is not just the reason for it being a £100++ item and difficult to find.

1. This was a double issue with Villa v Burnley Reserves dated March 29th with a 3pm Kick off, but the expensive part is the match v United was on the MONDAY 31st March with a 3pm Kick Off and that is why it proves to be a little more difficult to obtain for United and I guess Villa collectors as well[unless they went on the Saturday before to watch the reserves!]. Now it may have been Easter back at that time I have no idea and there is nothing inside the programme itself that mentions Easter.

I am simply giving the facts as they are documented and as that bloated Spanish waiter used to say "EEET HIS A FAT!"

We sold one of these in the past, it was a joint programme with reserves if I recall and it was also Bobby Charlton's first game back after the air crash (well it said inside).

Sold for over £100 too back in 2008 but suspect you would do well to get that now.

I do not agree-how many do you see turning up?.
One Forum member already has said he does not have one, does anyone else on the Forum need it for their Villa or MU collections?. I would wager if it went onto ebay it would sell in excess of £100-well if i needed it I would pay it and be done with it and cross it off the list. Of course one has to cut your cloth accordingly and it may be another collectors view they would prefer to get 2 or even 3 off thier lists for the same amount of outlay-we are all different.

Collecting and this forum is all about opinions-but for the masses of United collectors out there and we all share a view that 1957-8 is a tough season in more ways than one, and some of the programmes are difficult for sure, the Villa issue which generally are trouble free to obtain buck the system with this time. If anyone has obtained one for a lot less in the last couple of years-good luck to you, but you will not find it on offers lists or auctions for cheap money as many are wise to it and have been for a while, ebay is your best best probably or find it in a Villa collection amongst a pile of other items perhaps.

Well suppose, you would be better placed then I so fair comment.

If I find another I'll be sure to put it up at £150 now Laughing

The last 3 times the Villa v Man United programme has been on eBay it has sold for £82, £100 & £64.
Still well out of my price range i'm afraid !!

If anyone does have a copy could you scan the pages for me as I also collect the match reports and all the results from 1st team to Juniors.
