Has anyone any views on the authenticity of these as they seem too rare to be true.

these tickets are genuine.
i know a serious collector who knows his stuff who has visted the seller and inspected them.
he was offered them off ebay for £750 each but declined them
i am not sure if she has not shill bidded them up to £750 each but they are very rare.
low crowds and mostly "pay on the gate"
these might be the only ones in existence

I dont think there is any need to shill bid these tickets up.

If 1927 tickets sell for between £2000-£3000
and a 1923 for £3000 with attendances 0f 16,500 and 12,000

MY MISTAKE.......SALE PRICES FOR PROGS NOT TICKETS. SORRY.

What will these go for....... Surprised

i agree that anybody with knowledge would not need to shill bid these up but we alledgedly have a lady with no knowledge selling some tickets her father collected to enable her to pay for her daughters wedding.
she had the charity shield ticket involving Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on ebay about 3 weeks ago.
she started it at nothing and then tried to stop the auction early when she privately got a bid that she was happy with.
she put a big note on the sale saying "don't bid" as the item is no longer for auction and she still got bids up to £2000.
these 2 tickets were available last week for £750 each and offered to 2 different collectors who declined them as too expensive.
when they appeared on ebay the underbidder up to £750 has a 100% record of bidding with her and her alone.
with £750 having been mentioned by the seller and the "protector" of the bids up to £750 has an only bid with her policy plus her sales pitch is "i don't know what i have" you can see where my theory comes from.
it will indeed be interesting to see what they make.

These tickets are both going to go for top dollar, they look in great condition and in 20 years of collecting Charity Shield memorabilia I haven't seen them in better condition.

Hello all,

I am the seller of these tickets and just to clear two very important things up before we continue.

The bidder who has only bid on my items is not a shill bidder but a well known collector, he has won items from me in the past and probably has more than one account depending on what hes biddings on.

The tickets are most very genuine and were collected by my father, I recently sold both a 1908 and 1911 ticket.

I have NO more 1908 tickets so there is no point in asking and while I do have plenty of other tickets these will be sold over a period of time to try to maximise profit.

Treble999/Ticket_king has contacted me via ebay, two of chums also contacted me, I agreed to give them first refusal before I put these two on ebay. I offered them a very good deal which was 2100 for the pair but both turned the chance down. I may be a woman but I am a experienced trader just not with pre-war items but I am learning quickly to be careful who I trust

Janine it’s probably best if you trust nobody.

There is something to be said for entering old and valuable sporting items with a specialist auction company. Although you have to pay a commission this form of selling does offer confidentiality and a buffer between the vendor and potential buyers. Unfortunately ebay is open to misuse and as a consequence suspicion and mistrust.

Welcome to the forum. We do have some knowledgeable ticket collectors but I'm not one of them.

Caveat below:
Just as long as you aren't Precious Claire, Jooko or anyone else who is going to get on our nerves trying to convince us all that a tuppenny item is worth £2,000 your input will be more than welcome. Very Happy

no I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, I only joined up so I could correct a few details about my auctions.

Hi Janine
this is treble99/ticket_king1999 on ebay.
these boys are quite correct in that you need to trust nobody and i mean nobody.
you have acquired a pre conceived idea about who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.
my two "chums" are not "chums" the way you mean it but fellow serious collectors.
Robert Stein who is chelseaman1 on ebay, is one of my "chums" you offered the tickets to.
i believe your asking price was £1500 and not £2100 as stated but no matter.
he is the most serious Chelsea collector programme in the country.
as for tickets he can take them or leave them and in your case he chose to leave them.that is clearly his choice.
you may get significantly more for them.

as for myself i genuinly offered to help you realise what you had.i had no ulterior motive.
i have the largest private collection of Manchester United items in the world.
i help Graham Budd at Sothebys and Mullock and Madely and the Manchester United museum(where i have many items on exhibit).
i help, free of charge, many old players write books on their memoirs.
i am the chairman of The Frost Foundation which helps sick children in the north of England.our patrons include Alex Ferguson,Ryan Giggs,Bryan Robson,Max Beasley and quite a few of the TV stars such as James Nesbitt
prior to that i was the vice chairman of the 5 Stars scanner appeal(same patrons as above) which raised £1 million pounds to get a scanner to detect cancer in children.
the reason i write this is that i won't be accused of trying to cheat you,as suggested by you, after you have had a couple of conversations with another collector .
this is a hobby for me.i enjoy helping others if i can and i will continue to do so long after you have sold some tickets that you have acquired.
your tickets are indeed rare but i have long since learnt that where there is one there is two

I can't tell you who I sold them too as She/he asked for privacy.
A deal was made for the pair for 2750, the 1911 ticket was not in the same good condition as the current ones on ebay.

I was eager to do a deal as I had to go overseas afterwards, I think your wasting your time adding these to your records because other than my father who purchased most of his from a former director/vip of West Norwood football club I don't know anyone who has any.
You see crowds were small and the only tickets would have been the ones given to local/county football associations who then gave them to local clubs.
Hope this helps Mr gas

Hi Ray, sorry for coming across as not trusting you, its not that I don't trust you its that I don't trust anyone.
Janine

Had to make my first post sometime! I have been collecting Charity Shield programmes/tickets for a long time. I often look on here to see if there is anything to interest me and as you can imagine Janine's tickets certainly caught my interest.

Not sure what post 3 will look like or how long it will take!

The 1909 went for £817.00

The 1910 went for £1,019

Looked like the buyer of the first was outbid for the second with his last minute bid of £999.00 Surprised
