A heroic figure at West Ham where he played nearly 800 games in all comps and scored well over 50 goals. A man you would always want on your side, a warrior and fighter who led by example. If the going got tough, Bill got tougher. And played about 100 games for the Addicks before crossing the Thames in May 1967. Won a couple of U23 caps only - very unjust.

RIP Billy, never forgotten in the East End or all over London to be honest. They don't make men like him any more.
