One of those wow!!!! moments today

Got in from work and the missus said an old lady down the road had a bag full of old programmes, was I interested.........silly question!

Turns out the old lady's brother had died and left 60 or 70 programmes in a box of old papers. The lady was binning them when her neighbour told her there was a bloke down the road who collected old programmes so she called me.

She was adamant she wanted nothing but she's getting something.....

14 assorted pre 1950 BUFC homes

4 pre 1950 Lincoln homes

2 52/3 Arsenal homes

2 48/9 Derby homes

20 odd Forest home and aways 1977-80 (any Forest fans, pay the postage and there yours)

20 odd Boston 1970's homes

and best of all

Boston v Leeds Utd Mather Cup 1947/48 season.

Any interested parties can make sensible bids, Sportingold will probably be the best place to sell this one, Mick Hewitt has it up for £200 last time I saw it.

Just as a matter of interest our good friend Chelseaman1 put this one on the other day, I thought about £130, shows just how much I know.....

Its a year before the Leeds game but just goes to illustrate how very sought after these post war years friendlies are. Ipswich are a very collectable club as we know, the shame for me is I don't have this one in my collection........yet!

I think the most I've seen a Boston programme go for previously was just over £200 for a pre war home v Notts County from about 36/37 season.

Had a similar incident last week.

Bought a 1938 swansea v cardiff friendly along with 15 swansea 50s programmes + a load of 1930s topical times picture card for just a small amount

since then have moved on the swansea programmes for more then double what i paid for the collection plus kept the friendly for my collection.

Also found out that the friendly programme sold for over £150 5 years ago in auction

Still have the photos if anyones interested, ive around 100 and am looking at a quid for each pic.
