Smile I have obtained a programme for the Bradford city v Manchester United League Cup @valley Parade 1960.Now I already had this but because the price asked was £20 ,I went ahead ,and bought it.I have compared it to the original programme ,the match of which I attended all those years ago,and I think it is an original. It was stated an original ,but I had doubts thinking am I paying £20 for a reprint.Reprints are becoming commonplace these days ,some state reprints others dont.
Does any Bradford City fan know if this Programme was ever reprinted ?
I bought it despite having the original because it was listed as excellent condition, and it was .By the way this wasnt a dealer but an ad in the Local free newspaper. He was also selling Man City items ,Huddersfield ,and Stockport County items.Nothing rare as far as I know when I enquired .
So I have either a real bargain ,or a top class reprint. Confused

Ken,

Just wondered if you think you have a bargain for twenty quid - what would it be expected to sell for?

Lucky you Ken. I have been trying to acquire a "reasonably" priced copy of this programme for a while as well as the 1st round game v Exeter.
If you're looking to sell it on at profit, let me know I may well buy it from you.

As for value. Recent copies I have seen go for £87-£156, in decent conditon.

One sold on ebay last week for £180.00,

I have never seen a reprint and pretty sure that it was never reprinted, if it had been i'm sure there would have been a few flying about on ebay at some point, i have a full set of Bradford City 60/61 programmes and a lot are in very good/mint condition and these have not been reprinted, you could pick a regular issue Bradford City programme up on ebay from that season for a pound or two and check it against yours for size and weight, paper texture etc,

I suppose the guy didnt have any ideas of Programme prices ,and I felt a bit awkward about it when I realised that it was worth more. However thats the ups and downs of collecting .I lost out on another reprint of another programme last year.It was stated a reprint and I paid the price asked.A few weeks later the same item was listed at 75% less than I paid ,and as even gone lower since.Collectors will pay the price asked ,or not depending how badly they want the programme. You win some ,and lose some as they say.In reply to Craig ,if it is an original ,and it appears to be it would sell on for over £100 I suppose.I dont intend to sell it on however, until I am really sure its authentic.I will probably file it under duplicates list ,having bought on several occasions programmes already owned, some inadvertently, some better condition. .Thanks to Cossie for your information.
There is a Bradford City reprint from 1956 on Ebay at the moment by the way .Going for £1.50 .It is stated quite clearly it is a Reprint.

I've still got the FA Cup third round Exeter City V Manchester United 1960-61, brought it four £6 of Sports Programmes, about ten years ago.

Bradford Park Avenue required second place today with 39 points, and a new record for Durham City Played 21 Won 0 Drn 0 Lost 21 For 13 Against 109 Goals -96 Points 0.

What happened to Park Avenue Ground after the club left? Wasnt there a cricket ground nearby? Whats left today if anything? Good win for Avenue @Boston .Hope the good run continues.

Apparently BPA were the best side to visit Boston this season.

You do understand what has happened at Durham dont you? They are a proud club with more than 100 years of history so they have all my respect for what they are doing this season. It would have been easy for them to run up debt, screw over their creditors and go into liquidation like BPA. Wink
