I have been asked to find out about this, so are there any Welsh/Wrexham experts that can confirm if a match took place either end of March or during April 1953 perhaps at Wrexham? at any level-Hope something can be turned up! or confirmed one way or another.

thanks but that is not the game as i checked out the england team and it did not contain the name of Alan Parks. That match was in Swansea i am advised it was end of April 1953 perhaps at Wrexham but do not know what level.

thanks for trying and taking the time to check-appreciated.

Thumbs Up

Hi Leslie,

According to the FA Handbook:
There was a Schoolboy Int at Cardiff on April 18 1953 4-2 to England; Vic Shield - U15s.

There is a photo of the England team which played Scotland on 9/5, but your player isn't in it. Naturally this doesn't mean a thing - I have a couple of Schools programmes covering matches which I know a certain player was in, but he is not listed anywhere in said programmes.

Not sure if this will be of any help.

Ian

Many Thanks Ian

I will pass on this information and the earlier attempt by Kenners.

Hi

This could be the one you are looking for? Wales v England Boys' Club 17/04/1953. Mentioned in bottom of the scans below (taken from Wrexham v Crewe programme on 11/04/1953).

The scans have come out smaller than expected...the wording in the programmes states:

"On Friday next there will be a special attraction at the Racecourse, when Wales meet England in a Boys' Clubs game. The kick off has been fixed for 6.15pm, and I would like to appeal to as many of you as possible to come along and support these footballers of the future."

The advert on the bottom of the other page gives the match details:

FRIDAY NEXT, APRIL 17TH - BOYS' CLUBS -
WALES V ENGLAND
Kick off 6.15pm

Was a programme produced for the game at Wrexham FC do you know?-if there is anyway i can get to see a scan of the team page that would be great or if a programme was available to purchase perhaps.

Many Thanks for your help too as well as Fishy and Kenners in taking the time to try and solve the mystery. Wave

I've never seen a programme myself. I have asked around and can't find anyone he who has seen a copy either. Wrexham did issue for other Boys' Clubs games in the late 40s/50s so there is always a chance something was issued.
