A friedn has asked me if I can source him the Celtic homes vs Basel, Benfica, Fiorentina and Leeds semi final from the 1969-70 season when they lost to Feyenoord in the Final.

Some Scottish dealers have them but they want ridiculous prices for programmes that aren't hard to get hold of by any stretch of the imagination. If anyone has some / all of them in good nick and willing to sell at a reasonable price please contact me?

Many thanks, John

I see 3 (apart from the Benfica) are on Ebay at £7.50 each, but sold search reveals they all sell for £1 upwards. the Leeds one has sold recently twice for about the £10 mark , but an earlier one sold for £1.20!

I see why you ask on the Forum as I was offered some stuff I wanted recently, general 60s League for £10 each!

Sorry i can't help but good luck in finding them.

John I think I have the SF game which was played at Hampden wasn't it ? its not in best of condition but got no writing on the front of it or stains or anything like that. Missing a top staple which isn't too bad for age. Few little creases on the front cover but not bad at all for it's age. 2nd Leg. 15th April. Hampden. I don't know how much the programme goes for but cause it's John if he's interested in this I trust him to offer me a reasonable price.

Thanks for the offer, but as there's no rush with this am happy to wait until such time as we can get decent condition copies. Like most big match programmes, the seasoned collectors already have them, and the fact that there were over 136,000 at the game means there was a very large print run - hence the game being played at Hampden. It's the laregst ever attendance for a European tie. If I remember rightly I used to have them in my stock box at about the £5 mark in very good condition, but it was never one that sold well for the reasons identified. Can't think of any European semi finals involving British clubs at home, bar perhaps Kilmarnock vs Leeds in 1966-7, that is still fairly difficult to obtain?

Hibs v Rheims or Rangers v Wolves spring to mind. Try getting them in excellent condition without spending £50 plus

So it's a run of the mill fiver copy programme. OK. Didn't know there was no rush for you to obtain the wanted programmes. I just thought to help you out cause I have a copy and I don't want it so offer it to you..guess what thought did. Anyway we move on.
