[u]My first North Staffs/Stoke Fair and very much looking forward to it. I'll have my usual selection of 1940s programmes covering the following teams:

HOME TEAM: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Barnsley, Birmingham, Blackpool, Bolton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Burnley, Bury, Cardiff, Charlton, Chelsea, Chester, Colchester, Crewe, Coventry, Derby, Doncaster, Everton, Fulham, Grimsby, Huddersfield, Hull, Leyton Orient, Lincoln, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester City, Manchester Utd, Mansfield, Newcastle, Notts County, Nottingham Forest, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Preston, QPR, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland, Swansea, Swindon, Walsall, West Brom, Wolves

I'll also have a wide selection of Blackburn Rovers programmes (home & away) from the 1940s, 1950s & 1960s along with current and last season.

If you come along, be sure to introduce yourselves Smile

EDIT: I forgot to add, any programmes ordered via here can be collected on the day, saving on postage.

Just back from the Stoke...did anybody attend? If so how did you find it from the collectors point of view?

As I was about the sixth person to get into the venue,
I thought there more buyers in there when I left at approx 11:00am.
as I am only after football DVD's and Video's.
Good to exchange some views with other attendees
Maybe see some of you at the Renishaw event for Subbuteo next Sunday 18 October

Lots of dealers but not so many punters. Stoke City was a better venue but unless you support the fairs and purchase you will lose the dealers. I have called it a day with the fairs, a lot of work for a small return. BOB BROWN

The last time I went to a fair that was around 30 miles from where i live.
The attendance was low so was the quality of programmes on view.
I think the programme fair has had its day, thanks to Ebay. I mean why waste a day at a fair when you can pick up bargains on Ebay.
Like Exeter City v Manchester United League cup 1960/1 for £3 Buy it Now.

Femalefan, are you talking of the North Staffs (Stoke) Fair or another Fair that you've attended ?

As a stallholder for many years and having attended many fairs in thistime, I've found what takings you make often reflects on the items you have on offer in the firstplace, attendances do go up and down but the same can be said of other specialist collecting areas such as Toys, Vinyl, Postcards, Cig Cards and Antiques etc,,,,,
Taking "bog Standard fare" is the equivalent of taking Val Doonican and K'Tels greatest hits to a Specialist Punk & Northern Soul Record Fair ..... hopefully theres always something for someone at all of these events...so keep going people!!
