While, I understand that few of you will have heard of Danny, he was one of life's genuinely nice guys. He was injured while playing for Keighley Cougars this afternoon, and passed away in hospital having suffered a cardiac arrest. Danny was 29, and leaves behind a wife and 5 month old twins.

He wasn't a close friend, but he played for my club (Keighley Cougars), and we always made a point of acknowledging each other at the match. I'm utterly devastated tonight.

Always had a soft spot for Lawkholme Lane . So sad to hear of the death of the Keighley Cougars player, so unexpected. I did not know him, but my thoughts are wiith him and his family.

Extremely sad and I'm certain that the Rugby League fraternity will come together to offer their support.

RIP

Shocking shocking news. RIP Danny and condolences to his family. I understand he left two very young children. Sometimes things happen which make you realise sport does not matter however much we love it.

Had many a good away day at Lawkholme Lane with Sheffield Eagles, and Keighley has always been a friendly club.

Devestating for the family, players and the club in general. So sad.

RIP Danny.
