I thought I would share a little gem I recently found.

I won the following lot at FSAs recent auction for £50 + commission.

Foreign Football Programmes: Includes Amsterdam v Manchester United 1962, Licka v
Liverpool 1982, Feyenoord v Tottenham Hotspur 1961, FC Zurich v Tottenham Hotspur 1967,
Auckland v Sing Tao 1960s etc (Cool Fair-Good

Now my main reason for buying this lot was to get the Zurich away cheap and sell the rest to make a profit (at least what I paid).

I already had the Feijenoord July 1961 tour programme but on inspection realised that the team page contained Greaves who didn't join them until December 1961. I inspected my copy and the teams were different. Now the new one had the score 3-4 written on the team page as well and Tottenham won 2-1 in July 1961. It turned out I had a copy of the game played pre season 1964 which I have yet to see at auction and for that reason believe could be a harder copy to find. As you can imagine a big smile suddenly appeared.

Any Tottenham collectors come across this one before?

Anyone else had any other experiences like this? For me this is what collecting is all about sometimes. Smile

It's a great feeling to discover something totally unexpected when acquiring programmes.

I once was given a pile of Blackpool programmes, nothing special, but acquired to improve on the condtion of one or two in my collection.

Apart from finding a few nice tickets inside some of them, I also found a single sheet for a very rare friendly match.

Unfortunately this has never happened since but the anticipation it might is always there.

Around 20 years ago.. I placed an advert in a local paper the chap said he had a collection of Wolves programmes mostly 1960s + 1970s but also had around 50 single sheet Wolves Wartime.
He wanted to meet me on a pub car park when he opened his boot it was full of 1960s 1970s + 1980s Wolves homes and aways.
He said he couldnt find the Wolves Wartime I said i didnt want his programmes, he was desperate for a few quid so i gave him £30 for the bootfull.

When I got home there they were tucked in some 1970s programmes around 80 Wolves home programmes 1942 to 1944. Love Love

Another strange find in the collection were some saucy photos of the blokes wife. Shocked Shocked

A guy who lives not far from my mum (I visit her every day) advertised 200 run of the mill 90's Rangers programmes for £30, he told me if he didn't receive a reply within a week he was going to bin them. I got them home and looked through them and managed to upgrade about 100 of my collection and also found a mint condition copy of Dundee United away May 1997 which is the match that clinched 9 titles in a row. I had quite a Rangers following on ebay at the time, so I advertised on all my listings that I was going to list it the following week, it sold for £41.......and there was 300 not 200.

Well done.

Similar.

I bought a batch of about 100 1960's Manchester United programmes I put one on e-bay which was a v West Ham from Mid 60's with token but I noticed that there was a Bobby Moore signature on the front cover. The Guy I bought from was from the press and he confirmed he had got the signature just after the game. I put it on for £1.00 it went for over £100 because of the autograph. Doubt it would do it nowaday's

Some people might have contacted him and told him that he mislaid the war time programmes in some 70's and 80's programmes. Isn't that tantamount to admitting highway robbery ?

Stan Collymore today made an astonishing admission that he has been having sex with strangers in public places for the past two years.

The former footballer admits that he became obsessed with "dogging" - driving to countryside car parks to have sex with strangers - after reading about it on the internet.

The BBC Radio Five Live commentator admitted he has been involved in the practice on at least a dozen occasions, sometimes joining in and at other times watching.

His most recent visit was to Cannock Chase country park near his home in Cannock, Staffordshire, on Saturday, he said.

The former Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa striker used the alias "John" and met a couple who quizzed him about the activity. He said he later exchanged phone numbers with the couple, who claimed they were new to it.

He said he swapped numbers with them and later received a text from the man saying his wife "wants to get f***ed tonight".
