I'm looking for these issues:

Gunflash: no 1-5, 10, 72, 150, 284-287, 354, 368-370, 377, 418, 439 & 441.

The Gooner: no 1-6

I know the early issues of both collections are really rare, so just trying my luck really.

Hi Daniel,

Nice gallery.

I have 1-5, 10 & 72 in bound form. I therefore can't send you scans but if you wanted I could try and take decent photo's of the front page of each for you that would at least fill that part of the gallery until you get the issues yourself.

I have the first three in their original Gestetner format too but am not looking to sell at the moment but will let you know should that change.

Hope this may help?

Thumbs Up

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

I'm not looking for scans/pictures other than my own really. But yeah, as I don't know how issues 4, 10 & 72 looks like I guess it could be helpful. You can send pictures to [email protected] or on PM if that's possible.

Also amazing that you have the first three issues, please let me know if you're once willing to sell. They're kind of like "holy grails" for me!

Will do Daniel.

I'll email you pictures tomorrow morning when there's some natural light around.

I'm after some information regarding these myself if anyone is in the know....

I purchased the first 129 issues bound into three volumes a few years ago. Like a few other bound items I own they are 'ex Libris Alan Davies'

Alan has sadly passed away, hence a good number of items from him came to market - Can anyone shed any light on Alan? It would seem that he collected just about everything football-wise so I'm sure some folk on the forum must have come across him over the years. Would just like to find out a little more about him if anyone can help. Thank you.

He must of had access to the Gestetner versions too as they have been reproduced in the same size as the normal Gunflash issues in order to bound them with the others. Like everything I have of his they are totally immaculate - anything that bears his name appears to be unread such as Sport Weekly from the late 40's early 50's, again they are in remarkable condition.

How can this be?? Any info gladly received from anyone who knew him.

The Arsenal Echo Echo lasted till summer 1992 - 23 issues. Highbury High and "One-Nil Down, Two-One Up" lasted 60+ issues. Up The Arse is still going strong as well.

Issues 1-14 of AIM are available on eBay for £89 at the moment...a little steep in my opinion albeit they are relatively rare for a fanzine. I have most if not all of them (I contributed to one or two) so will let you know exactly how many there were when I next get access to them (if you haven't had the answer by then).

Hi DVS, Certainly would appear a little on the steep side but I note that they are on a best offer sale so you could possibly get them cheaper and at least knock your 4 early copies off your list and perhaps sell the others at a more reasonable price? I also note from the listing that the seller has turned down offers as long ago as January so would imagine they'd quite like to sell them at some stage soon!

I have already been in contact with him, and he wasn't too keen to split them up. I might up my offer later but in the meantime I'll be looking for the others. The later issues seems pretty rare as I haven't seen any for sale yet.
