About Me

What do you do for a living?

I am a student at Leeds Met University, and I also work part-time for a debt counselling charity.

Which club do you support and why?

Burnley. My Dad used to support Bradford (Park Avenue) until they went bust. He doesn't like Leeds, he didn't like Bradford City, so he chose someone reasonably nearby who he had no links to. It's been Burnley from there and Burnley for me.

What do you collect?

Burnley programmes, occasional aways and cups, and I do look out for special Park Avenue programmes for my Dad.

How did you get into programme collecting?

My Dad always brought them home from football when I was kid and I used to read them, he always bought programmes from games and I've carried on since.

Your Collection

What was your first football programme?

Burnley v Stockport County, 13/01/1996 - a 4-3 home victory!

What was the last programme you bought?

My Dad bought me a Burnley v Manchester City programme from 1948/49.

How big is your collection?

How do you store your collection?

Season by season, in large plastic boxes, currently in the loft after a big sort out.

Whats the oldest programme you own?

The 48/49 programme v Man City.

What is the rarest item in your collection?

A couple of abandoned games that were re-arranged from the 80s and 90s.

Which programme from your club is the rarest and most expensive to obtain?

I'm not sure, it's so rare I've not found it yet! Possibly the Charlton v Burnley FA Cup final from '47, if a programme exists.

What is...?

What is your worst buy?

I have a fantastic 53/54 programme against Preston that I bought without a staple.

What is your best buy?

My favourite is the FA Cup final v Tottenham in '62.

What is the most you have paid for a programme and which one?

£10 for a 50/51 league programme v Derby.

What is the most you have received for a programme and which one?

I haven't sold anything from my programme collection, yet.

What is your most prized programme?

Tottenham in '62, the final.

Whats your biggest regret in collecting?

Not making a note of all my programmes from the beginning, though it was fun going through them all again.

The Hobby

In you opinion, is the programme collectors communtiy shrinking or growing?

There seems to be a lot of collectors about.

What do you enjoy most about the hobby?

Reading the older programmes.

Where do you buy most of your programmes from?

Fairs and eBay

The Future

If money was no object, which programme would you most like to add to your collection?

The European ties from the 60s, or the Charlton cup final programme.

Would you ever sell your collection?

How do you wish to develop your collection over the coming years?

I have at least one programme per season from 1950/51 so just building up, season by season.
