Hi All
Please have a look and tell me what you think??
it is far from finished but hopefully will contain a scan of the front cover of every Manchester City programme in my collection over the coming months.
I have so far added all the pre 1960 away ones i have and all the progs i have from 60's aways.
I am now working on 70's aways and i have started scanning the progs to my computer so these should be added by the end of the week.
Many Thanks
Regards
Darren

Mark,

Nice start to the website, do you have to pay to operate the site?

Cheers

Glad youve one sorted - no doubt a few dealers will get one then put a stupid price on it - hopefully not too many will though...

Want to try and do mine like this :-

http://spurscollectables.com/archive/season1945-46.html

But think it would cost quite a bit and a huge amount of time to sort it...all be worth it in the end though

Will have a nose at the site, funnily enough I have just started building a similar site for Leeds United programmes. I have the design created I think with a few tweeks on the CSS and it's a case of building up season by season.
Thinking of trying to learn ASP and operate the site from a database. Or just stick with HTML and CSS. I am using Google Picasa to store the images to reduce space on my chosen server.

All the best with the site, will add a link to mine once created, hopefully your do the same Nod

Cracking website mate. Wish I could find time to do a similar one for my Boro collection.

I noted that there wasn't an image of the City v Boro postponed 16/11/63. Can you confirm if there was one produced?

Thumbs Up

Brilliant site, I would like to do something similar when I get time. All the free websites I have tried so far though have picture restrictions, most only allowing up to 50 or so which is no good really.

Or find a cheap hosting company, say around 30 quid for 2 years including a domain name of your choice (unless already taken) and design it exactly how you want it.

In terms of pictures I am storing mine on Google's Picasa and linking the image source to their location within Google.

Nice site mate, if you need any images for Leeds away back to 47/48 let me know and I will forward them onto you.... or take them from my site. Do you want to exchange links??

Post subject: My 2nd New Manchester City Website
Reply with quote

Hi All
about 18 months ago i decided to create a website using Piczo which took me about a year to complete with all my Manchester City programmes however during the last 6 months Piczo has been taken over buy a company called Star Doll and ever since this i have had trouble adding pictures to my website as this new company never updates or fixes issues anymore so when i finally get the pictures to my website i have to download the pictures to photobucket and then to my website and you can't resize these pictures
www.manchestercityprogrammes.piczo.com
so i have decided to create a 2nd website on weebly and i owe a huge thank you to Frampton for the tip and ideas from his Bristol City Programmes website. after just over a week i have already added loads to the new website and can't believe how much better and easier this one is to use. on major plus is say i buy a 1960's friendly home programme on the old website i had to move all the images one by one already on that page to make room for the new one which was very time consuming but the new one automatically creates the space for you and just moves the rest of the website down automatically
i hope to have everything which was on my old website to my new one in the next 2 weeks but feel free to have a look round what i have done so far. i have finished the below pages
1960's MCFC Homes
1970's MCFC Homes
1980's MCFC Homes
2010's MCFC Homes
1960's MCFC Aways
2010's MCFC Aways
All of the pages in MCFC Other Section
any deedback or ways my new website can be improved would be appreciated
enjoy and below is the link
www.manchestercityprogrammes.weebly.com
Cheers
Darren

Hi Daz, nice one mate, looks good, although you're missing this:

www.flickr.com/photos/sharrowblade/5753037730

Seriously, you've done well to add the amount you've done in a week it is a time consuming exercise, and it is a bit of a conundrum as to which kind of hosting site you choose.

I've begun to add the match details to mine, score, attendance, scorers, and some trivia, now that is time consuming. I've recently finished up to 1955-6 and will be starting 1956-7 tonight. Only another 54 season to go Crying or Very sad

Keep up the good work

Regards Sharrowblade

In the words of Kylie Minogue 'I Should be so lucky.......lucky, lucky, lucky'

It was a scan of an original sent to a United collector, by a huge Manchester City Collector, who I assume was Phil. Apparently, there aren't too many knocking around. I would have bought the one off Phil, but with 4 pages missing it was a no no.

have you got this one, couldn't see it, but I might be wrong

To be honest not many City collectors know about this one and i did not know until you asked me whether it existed or not.
The one Phil sold with 4 pages missing sold for £325 pretty low really compared to some other city postponed.
and his story was he was fairly certain that it was the only one in existance. Do you know any Sheffield United collectors who have this.
I certainly don't know any city collectors??

This is the one which phil had

as for the Friendly no i don't have it but i don't really collect away friendlies pre 99 as there are hundreds of them i just get given from time to time a few of the earlier ones although i have recently been picking a few up from 95/96 to 98/99 pretty cheaply on eBay and off a few dealers
