Does anyone know for definite whether a programme exists for the following postponed programme?
1962/63 Chelsea v Luton Town, dated 29th December 1962

Hi,

I have never seen a copy of this programme available for sale but according to the Chelsea home programme guide 1946-1998 there was a programme issued.

There was another postponed game against Leeds United from the same season which the guide also states there was a programme issued & I have seen a copy of this sold on Ebay within the last 12 months.

Thanks for that. I have spoken to other Luton collectors who say they have never seen one, including collectors who have been collecting since before that particular match, yet they can't confirm whether or not it exists, as they say they see Chelsea collectors listing it on their wants lists. It's rather annoying, as I'd love to erase it from my lists.

I'd love to have this programme in my collection to.

If one ever does come up for sale be prepared to pay silly money for it.

I'm pretty sure the Leeds one went for £1800. It was mentioned in a previous thread somewhere....

The Leeds issue sold on EBay recently was an uncut printers issue someone probably rescued from the 'bin'. The only time I have seen it in over 45 years of collecting.

As most of us collectors are aware the 1962/63 season between late Dec 1962 and March 1963 was the the big 'Winter Freeze' with countless games postponed, rescheduled, only to be postponed again sometimes 3/4 times over. This particular period is a collectors nightmare in determining if a programme was issued and furthermore in acquiring those programmes known to be in circulation.

But, it is the search, an rare 'success', which make our hobby so interesting.
