I am the first to admit i have had quite a few programmes , when i post in the "programmes you require section", from a lot of helpful members, but has anyone asked for programmes and all of a sudden they appear on ebay? I guess you can't blame people trying to get the best prices, but some im after have turned up with i think higher than expected prices. Needless to say i won't be buying.

Yes It has happened to me on many occassions over the last 12 months. Also when you send wants lists to people/dealers all of a sudden one or more appear on Ebay.

Sadly frustrations from buying and selling are now a plenty. I have several times contacted people over my wants (admittedly mostly people not on the forum) and so often the response is yes I have a copy and I will list it for you on eBay shortly.

Some stuff on eBay is now being listed by people at ridiculous prices (including dealers) and what amazes me is that even when they don't sell (sometimes several times) they persist in maintaining the price and won't consider a decent offer. Surely turnover is important in commerce not just squeezing an extra few quid. But then I am not a dealer so maybe they are right and I am not.

On the other side of the coin, there are also some people (sadly on this forum) who expect something for nothing. Even if my spares have come from buying a larger amount in order to access a few that I want, then the programmes still cost me money, I didn't get them free and I didn't make the time and effort to follow or go to an auction or hunt it down on eBay so they can sit back and be given it for next to nothing. Yet some guys expect to be virtually given programmes just because they contacted you via the forum.

But, the thrill of the chase and getting one more from the wants list keep us going despite the frustrations. And where there is one there is virtually always more.

Think it's rather an underhand practice. Am only too happy to check other people's wants lists and help out wherever possible as I feel it's a much more satisfactory way of doing things rather than leaving everything to ebay.
I think I have a fair idea of which programmes are collectable from particular historic seasons for some clubs 54-5 Chelsea 57-8 Manchester United 60-1 Spurs 59-60 Gateshead 61-2 Accrington etc from years of collecting, buying and selling. The same thing north of the border with 61-2 Dundee, 64-5 Kilmarnock 66-7 Celtic etc etc.
Certain friendlies attract good prices. I also know when I put programmes on here at maybe lower than normal prices I get a far better response than if they are put on at recognised dealer's prices. Better to shift stuff on if needing to than sit back on something hoping for an eventual sale at said price.
There's a market for everything at some price but to know people's wants and then to refuse them a programme because you now know it's definitely collectable to at least one person is despicable.
