If there was a programme that I really wanted but it was in that kind of condition I'd rather wait for a few more years than buy it like that.

It's all a matter of perspective. I wouldn't pay for something like that, regardless of need. When I got the Blackpool collection the other week was advised that the 1948 F.A.Cup Final was "knackered" - which it certainly was. Put it on ebay with a very clear warning as to all it's inherent problems, and a starting price of a fiver. Eventually got £18 for it, which I thought was very good all things considered. It also gave someone who probably couldn't afford the £150 plus a genuine programme of the game. Result? Both parties happy.

I agree with Auchinleckian, sometimes its good just to fill a gap in the collection then go back and buy a one in better condition later on.
It would be great to have a complete mint collection but surely thats the final aim, I always think its good to have a complete collection first then replace the tatty ones after.
That said, I personally would not pay the price this programme went for in its condition even if its the last one I need. :oops:
