Folder and File help.

Need a bit of help here guys.

I have a Folder on my pc and i load my photos in it.

I arrange the photos in the order i would like them to appear and each photo has a name. I close the Folder.
Next time i open the Folder, the pc has re-arranged my photos into alpha-numerical order, not the order i want them in.

How do i get them to stay in the order i require ?

Apart from naming each photo with a number before its title, i cannot seem to see another way ?

Assuming your using Windows, what version are you using?

Im not 100% sure ill be able to answer your query either but ill give it a go

Further to this, you need to disable "auto arrange icons" and then your files will stay how you leave them. But this function has been disabled on Windows 7 for all places apart from the desktop so if your in Win 7 your screwed.

Have you tired using picasa and keeping your images in there? Ive not but i hear its very good!

I always name my files with a number in front of them for this very reason!!! I find it easier to that in the long run.

If you want to deal with images it's best to use a seperate program rather then windows. Most people don't know that within images the is a lot of information called meta data. This includes dates, formating and even the type of camera used. If you use something that can read this stuff (windows can but that extra typing for me) it makes thing a lot easier.

download Googles free software Picasa. You can edit and store, you can even store all your images online for safe keeping.
