Ive only ever used an auction site for selling so I dont mean to sound thick but how does this work?

Basically - How I normally do it is I email my bids in before the closing date. If you are successful the auction house contact you and you send your payment off. You pay comission of 17% on the hammer price plus VAT but this is only on the 17%.
If the estimate on a lot is say £30-50 and you put in a bid of £35 and nobody else bids on it they sell it to you for £30.
Bear in mind you will also need to pay post/packing as well or if you live near enough to collect them yourself they will let you pick them up.
Sometimes I have put a bid in below the estimate and got stuff cheap.

Thanks for your help with that - might be worth a punt on a few items -some nice signed stuff there by the looks of it. Postage from these places is never cheap but I think I'll take a risk.

I didn't know anything about this auction or the ones before. Looked through the lst catalogue and literally cried at some of the stuff and what it sold for. One lot we would have paid £50+ for.. It went for £12! :'(

I got some of the non-league lots and a box of postponed / abandoned progs. Don't know what games are in there yet but got them cheap. I will be picking them up 29th Jan.

the best thing about tim is he runs it like an auction rather than an offers list ie you on pay an increment above the next highest bid rather than the full price you offer.
