Can any Burnley collector/enthusiast please help me with the exact date of the CHORLEY v BURNLEY pre season friendly played in July 1972. As far as I am aware no programme or team sheet was issued but I would like to try and obtain a match report.

I have had a good trawl through the British Newspaper Archive.

The only thing i could find was in the Winsford Chronicle dated 10 August 1972, they were writing about Witton Albion's new season and as Chorley were their first opponent they said they'd drawn 4-4 against Burnley in a pre-season friendly. No info apart from that though.
