Whats peoples views on these? Are they really worth collecting for an investment in years to come. Time and time again i see reserve programmes/team sheets from recent years go unsold on ebay with a £0.99 start price. What do you normally pay for reserve team sheets/programmes of this age?

Are they worth collecting. Presently No. But who knows maybe in about 30 years time.

I collect them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get individual ones, at 99p plus p&p they're not worth it. A couple of years ago, managed to get at auction about 900 (for £100) in mint condition, Sheff Utd stretching from 1994-2006, Home & Away, plus away friendlies with original team-sheets, plus Academy Home & Away (2001-6).

Not much interest to most people, but they were to me.

From that era I'm missing about 20 reserves & about 12 Academy now. If one comes up, I suppose I might be tempted.

In the last 3 months picked up another 170 or so from 2006 onwards, (15p each).

You really need to find somebody who works for the club Nod

I can't imagine there is anybody who would collect modern day reserves as an investment. Even full modern day programmes will be worth little in the years to come.

Most reserves these days are black and white photocopied sheets anyway, even the coloured ones are unlikely to have any additional value.

I collect them as I tend to go to most home and away reserve matches (or at least I did until we started playing afternoon aways down south) and because it keeps the collection uptodate. Since completing my post war set of Blackpool progs (except for the odd overseas friendly and postponed match) I started building up a collection of post war reserves and am well on the on the way to completing my homes.

I certainly wouldn't pay over the odds for any post 1970 reserves (Lancs Senior Cup and Youth Cups excepted) but find I am having to pay decent prices to fill the gaps of the earlier ones.

I wouldn't have thought they would gain much value in the future, some clubs produce reserve progs my club Leicester don't have a reserve team now. Looking at what some reserve team progs are like now they are only photocopied sheets of paper, so whats to stop unscrupulous con-men from copying them and selling them off as originals (but then again how do you tell anoriginal).
