My mate called me earlier, he does clearances during the week and carboots/markets at weekends. He said a couple of weeks ago that he had some football programmes, a few boxes, if I'm interested. Never got back to him, but it turns out he took them to the car boot today and some old fella told him they are worth thousands.

Reckons theres a few boxes of pre war Portsmouth including cup finals, complete seasons almost every game portsmouth have played ( his words )

So I'm going round his Tuesday night to find out what he has and what he wants to do with them.

Am I going to find a real lot of gems or 70s nd 80s worthless crap?

Also any advice on pricing Portsmouth programmes, from each decade or is there anything inparticular thats rare and valuable? I will update as soon as I find anything out, cheers!

While collecting Pompey progs from the 57/58 & 58/59 seasons the hardest to obtain for me was :
Portsmouth v Charlton Southern Floodlight Ch Cup 14/10/57 think i payed £50+ for it.
Portsmouth v Manchester United 16/4/58 although not that "rare" often sells for £60+.
If by chance you have the Pompey away Friendly at Cardiff 57/58 i would be interested in bying that one of you.Phil.

39/40 before the war H v Blackburn, A v Derby, Bolton.

most 1946/47 to 49/50, because of the 2 championship seasons.

Single sheets programmes in League cup 1960/61 Home v Chelsea & Man. City.

Southern Floodlit Challenge Cup 1955/56 Home v Brentford S/S
1958/59 home v Luton S/Sheet.

Any postponed Home & Away ( 42 in total since the war) would go for a little extra (some a lot extra)
I have list if needed.

Well I went round and picked up 3 largish boxes one of which has "POMPEY LEAGUE CUP AND CUP FINALS" writen on it.

Full of excitement at this I hurry home and discover......hmmm, undecided to be honest.

I've spent about an hour going through them, they are in date order, seperated by season, and home and away too. Cant see any cup finals though, and certainly no pre war or anything close.

mid 60s to late 90s looks pretty much complete league and cup homes at least. Aways there seems to be 3-6 of each opponent spanning these seasons.

A few gems, a couple of 70s teams sheets, a southern floodlit cup single sheet, some nice ones with the football league review still inside (complete seasons) a spurs one from 1950 pompey v man utd 74/75.

Best of all almost every programme is in excellent condition, a couple with team changes but most have good clean pages, no rust at all and tokens and token sheets or football league reviews still inside.

So what this amounts to is a wants list request I suppose? Let me know guys , Cheers!
