Hi all..this is my first post on what seems an excellent forum and one which i wish i had stumbled upon long before now.

I have been looking at the lots in the forthcoming sportingold auction and as a collector of fa cup finals and semis couldnt believe it when i noticed the 1927 cardiff v reading semi final at molineux programme.

I have never seen it before and having discussed it with some fellow collectors who all have had it on their wish list for years am thinking of having a punt at it.

What i wanted to know from you guys is regarding the estimate-£1600-£1800 do you think it represents value as i do?

I also notice the following lot 102 which also is a molineux semi from 1936 between sheff utd and fulham which i also do not have at £450-£500 which again i think represents great value.

basicly guys should i go for them or not?

They are both quality programmes and the simple answer is yes, if you collect them and you need them and you have the spare cash go for them. Quality will always be in strong demand. Where up north are you? I will be at the auction, good luck even though you are Tottenham Razz

A 1936 Semi Final recently sold on ebay for £250 ''Buy It Now'' but that was a good price, i've seen it sell at auction for £400 before

Just remember these are estimates, nothing more. You might strike lucky and get it for less but i doubt it at sporting gold. Even if you managed to get the 1927 one at the low end of the estimate, there's still the commission to pay which would roughly be an extra £280. And if you're not attending and buying through the saleroom.com, there's a further charge.
