Did anybody attend the programme fair at the Walkers last saturday or the Britannia on Sunday and if you did, what did you make of them? SB

I was at the one at the Walkers, you only get 3 stalls there one is a private collector who tends to sell off surplus Leicester stock, Leicester City Supporters Club has a stall (Only because it is held in their offices) and Colin Boulter had a stall.
Most of the progs had a Leicester bias apart from the ones that Colin Boulter was selling who tends to bring more of a mixture.
If you were travelling any great distance it wasn't really worth it, but as I live in Leicester it didn't bother me too much.

Thanks Foxes1, I have to admit I was at both. I have no beef with the smaller fairs and their variety of team's programmes as with Leicester & Stoke, the localised fair's are always the same (whether its Leeds, Lincoln etc etc), I'd expect nothing less. This concerns the venue themselves.

The fact that I came away from both with one Forties programme, 2 teamsheets & a handful of tickets also has no bearing whatsoever on this discussion.

The travelling didn't bother me neither, strangely enough I've always enjoyed driving.

Now I know their are probably cost factors involved, but considering both fairs were held at relatively new football stadiums, surely they could have found better surroundings.

The Stoke fair was held in the concourse in one of the stands. The lighting was poor so the doors were left open, meaning that the temperature was freezing, I had difficulty holding anything!

As for Leicester, it was nothing short of disgraceful. It was held in the stairwell of the Staff entrance, with no room to swing a cat. There was a lad in a wheelchair who was impossible to pass, it wasn't his fault it was the location. I don't like to criticize any lads who organize these events but if you're going to put them on, then have a thought about the location. At the Walkers it gave the impression there was a seedy second hand Adult Book sale going on. SB
