D C Thomson Rover Magazine Famous Footballers and Sportsmen (Colour) 1953/6
In the early 1950’s DC Thomson published a series of colour pictures of Famous Footballers and later Other Sportsmen in The Rover magazine.
These were published as cut outs on the magazine and so many collectors (as this one did) mounted the comic paper cut outs onto card to effectively give them a card of the player.
As a result, there are relatively few of these that survived outside of scrapbooks. I have acquired a lovely collection and here are the players available with dates where possible:
