This poster sold on eBay yesterday for £77. Obviously someone wanted to tie in the World Cup 1966 with The Beatles . The strange thing is Ringo didn’t have the moustache until Sgt Pepper times in 1967, so it must have been produced well after the tournament . Unusual item?

Hi Sid, l don’t think the seller claimed it was from 1966 , so not sure how that works out? Just had a look at his World Cup posters , very impressive..

The listing was ambiguous but yes he did say he wasn't sure when it was produced

The claim that the Beatles were recruited to promote the 1966 World Cup and then deemed unsuitable seems...dubious?
