The Bournemouth thread has got me to ask about alternate coloured programmes immediately following WW2. At that time, paper was scarce and there is an assumption that printers used what was available. So far there have been discovered at least three away games for QPR where there were programmes printed on different coloured paper. They involved Orient, West Ham and Swansea Town, the latter I have recently uploaded to my website.

I wonder if this was a common occurrence for other clubs.

Pompey had either white or blue copies during the 1948/49 season

some games had both versions available

I've got two versions of the Blackburn Rovers v Manchester City programme from season 1947-48 with entirely different cover designs.

Argyle had multiple colours for their 45/6 and 46/7 programmes on faily flimsy paper.

Off the top of my head this may have continued into 47/8 occasionally....I seem to recall two versions of a Tottenham programme, one a very fetching Gunner red Smile
