I've just read on twitter that Manchester United fan and renowned collector has passed away.

Sad news had the odd dealings with him surprisingly for Wigan items, very knowledgeable, condolences to his family.

RIP Ray, my sincere condolences to your family and friends.

I enjoyed many email conversations with Ray about our hobby and it's different characters.

Sad news, Ray wasn't everybody's cup of tea but I'd be lying if I said I didn't sometimes laugh out loud at some of the stuff he'd write. RIP fella.

Used to talk to Ray occasionally on Flickr about our respective sites & collecting, I might not have always agreed with him, but he almost always made me laugh.
