Hi, I wonder if anyone could advise me as to how hard the away programmes from this season are hard to obtain. Could someone give me a ranking of the ten hardest programmes to obtain? Any help appreciated

Burnley v Tottenham, 22nd April 1961 - last game of the season.

This often goes for a lot of money at auctions - I picked my copy up for £20 and I was pleased with that.

Wolves v Spurs that season is pretty common, doubt you will have to pay over £5 probably only £2 or £3.

Oh and why does the double season sway? Very Happy

Sorry Phil there is no such thing as a mint 1960 programme, a very good condition condition copy of this is no more than £25 if you are patient, sorry but i spend all my time looking for my own programmes, and you dont need another as you say you already have a copy.

Check out the following dealers to get an idea of how much you would have to pay:

www.brentside.co.uk

www.sportsprogrammes.net

www.footballprogrammes.com

Using these prices as a guide you will be able to judge whether you are getting a 'bargain' if you find copies elsewhere.

The Preston one has been in footballprogrammes.com catalogue at £150 for several months if not a year or two.

I've been looking for the Bolton one for a few years, the cheapest one I have seen for sale was £200 at the Bolton Fair.

In their auction on the 5th August 2010, Sporting Memorys W A Ltd had 23 Spurs aways from the 60/1 season spread over 5 lots.

Lot 414 comprised of 13 aways in various condition at Arsenal, A. Villa, A. Villa ( FAC ), Birmingham, Chelsea, Everton, Fulham, Man City, Man Utd, Sheff Weds, WBA, West Ham and Wolves.
This lot sold for £70

Lot 415 comprised of 2 aways at Bolton and Burnley.
This lot sold for £180

Lot 416 comprised of 2 aways at Blackburn and Preston.
This lot sold for £140

Lot 417 comprised of 3 aways at Blackpool, Leicester and Nottm Forest.
This lot sold for £120

Lot 418 comprised of 3 aways at Cardiff, Newcastle and Sunderland (FAC )
This lot sold for £90

The 5 lots went for a total of £600

Hopefully this will give an indication of which programmes are the harder to obtain for the Double season.

New to this site but I do have the Bolton Spurs programme that a few of you refer to - Weds 7th Sept 1960.

Just recovered it from the loft and it's in very good condition.

Contact me for more info or check out ebay in the morning!

Cheers.

as a spurs collector i can tell you the Bolton one is the hardest to find and usually fetches around the £300. The Preston one is fairly rare and around £50-£75 on a good day is about right. Have seen it go for more though.
