Sad news yesterday. Bob Winstanley passed away on the morning of 14 December.

I copy a piece from a Brentford supporter:

As some of you know Bob had had heart problems for a number of years and had a heart attack whilst at the Chelsea away game last season. As a result he had been in & out of hospitals in Peterborough & London for most of the intervening period. It was planned that he was due to have some heart surgery in the near future.

I've known Bob & Rose for a number of years and have been staying with them up in Lincolnshire since Sunday. Bob was his normally cheeky self. We went for a meal last night with a friend and when we got home, Bob said he was tired and went to bed. He woke up around 03:00 this morning with breathing difficulties and a high heart beat rate. Rose called for an ambulance and after evaluation he was taken to Peterborough Hospital. After arrival it would appear his condition worsened and he died from a sudden massive heart attack in A&E. Staff tried to resucitate him for 45 minutes without success. He was 69.

Rose has lost a husband & her soul mate of over 40 years.

Bob was a programme dealer of many years. In fact he recently purchased my entire collection of Brentford FC programmes dating from 1934 to 2020.

RIP Sir.

That's very sad. I've bought many West Ham programmes from Bob & Rose and they were always lovely to deal with

Very sad news, have had many dealings with them. They are very local to me. RIP Bob, my thoughts are with Ruth and family.

Used to love meeting up with Bob & Rose at programme fairs, always brought stock for me, even when they had moved to Scotland. Was the first stall I would head to.

RIP Bob, another of life's gents

Can only echo what others have said - very sad news. In the days when I was collecting for myself and grabbing bits for the Club Shop at Hayes Bob was always a help with little bits & pieces when he was selling at the West London Programme Fair.

(And oddly enough the anniversary of Chris Williams' passing popped up on the Faceache feed this morning too).

I can't really add any more to whay has already been said. Lovely guy, and nothing was too much trouble. He will be very sadly missed.

I used Bob’s catalogues back in the day and he was a friendly fixture at London fairs, a genuinely nice fella.
