I wonder if anyone can help or maybe point me in the right direction. I’m trying to find some background information on the makers and dates of the coffer/clubman/P&G sport insert badges. Stuff like years made, and company background and distribution.

Can't be much help I'm afraid, buddy, but I think Coffer issued badges from the turn of the 70s up to their demise in 1982. I've often wondered who did the insert badges first, them or P&G?

Whoever it was, they were a genius idea.

Some collectors are quite snobby about them, which is their prerogative of course, but I adore them personally, they're fantastic items and completely of an age in which post-1966 & WC Willie, football memorabilia really took off big style, with Coffer arguably leading the way. Any lad who grew up in the 1970s had their bedroom invariably decorated by Coffer.

One thing that certainly can't be argued is the quality of their enamel badges, along with the likes of Reeves & AEW, etc; they really stand the test of time & put many modern productions to shame.

Good luck in finding out more Russ. Thumbs Up

Have you considered dropping Keith Wilkinson a line, Russ, he's sure to know the history behind those, I would have thought?

I don't have an addy for him, but I'm sure Kev does.

Might be worth a try mate.
