Programme & Memorabilia Fair at Fratton Park, Portsmouth

Pompey’s historic two titles wins in 1949 and 1950 have been commemorated in a special display at Fratton Park and fans will get the chance to see it for the first time at the Pompey History Society’s annual programme fair on Sunday March 20, starting at 10.30pm in the Victory Lounge..


The society, which is the not-for-profit organisation tasked by the club to preserve and share the club’s rich heritage, received a Heritage Fund grant in 2019 to record the memories of people who were in Portsmouth at the time of the club’s title win.


And now the outcomes of the project are ready to share.


30-minute timed visits from the Victory Lounge, the first at 10.30am the last at 1.15pm can be booked by visiting the society’s website www.pompeyhistory.org. The site also has an archive of the material collected during the project, including documents, photographs and audio testimonies of the project participants.


The programme and memorabilia fair, managed by Chris Gibbs, will also be taking place at the same time with dealers from across the south. Should any dealers or collectors wish to have a stall at the event, then contact Chris on 07761001079 or email at [email protected].



There will also be an exhibition of memorabilia from the championship years.
