I see from programme monthly that Man U v maccabi 53/4 programme is coming up in a forthcoming auction- but was surprised to see it mentioned specifically in the advert- suggesting it is noteworthy
Is it particularly sought after and if so why? Afternoon ko? Postponed?
Just wondering

Very rare 4 pager. It was played at the cliff as the floodlights at Old Trafford hadn’t yet been installed.

Only a few in existence, 5 maybe?

I sold a spare at Stacey's for £2800 last year plus 20 odd per cent commissions on top , so it went for around £3500 or so.

I expect it to reach similar heights perhaps even more?.

This is a link to my collection of items from THE CLIFF

ONLY 36 programmes have ever surfaced involving Manchester United between 1951-1956 for games played at THE CLIFF from A team, Gilgryst Cup, Youth Cup and Minor Friendlies, Manchester League, Lancashire Supplementary Cup.

The match v a Macabiah X1 was not a 1st Team match, that about the gist of it then Ray?.

There are so far a further 4 within that same period where the Cliff was used for neutral games using the same single sheet programme with the instructions " TO READ HOLD PROGRAMME TO LIGHT"!

The match v a Maccabiah X1 was not a 1st Team match

that about the gist of it all then Ray?.
